Horrace Fisher

Once there was a fisherman. His name was Horrace Fisher. On the Island he lived on, your last name is your job. He had a few friends whose names where, Gail Gametester, Kyle Car-Seller, Johnny Cashier, Isaac Insurance-Man, Fredie Five-Oh, Danny Doctor, and Justin Style.

Horrace was a very skilled fisherman. He could catch a shark using his bare hands. Early in the mornings before it was light out he would dangle his arm off of his boat and wiggle it around like a fish jumping out of the water. The shark would see this and start swimming towards his hand. Normally the shark would be able to see Horrace but Horrace knew this so he would shine a light on the water at an angle so the water glared, and all the shark could see is something making prey-like movements. The shark would come at the bait and jump out of the water trying to get it. When the shark was out of the water Horrace Grabbed the shark by its tail and flung it onto his boat. Then he tied it down and started towards shore.

His boat was made for him by Kyle’s Carpentry. He got the finest wood from Jack’s Lumber and the best screws and nails from John’s Smiths. The boat was a beauty. It had a full cabin on the top for driving, a Dual Propeller Fusion V10 Vortex motor, a downstairs with a bed and a bathroom and a big leather chair from Tanner’s Tannery. But Horrace’s favorite spot was the back end of the bottom of the boat because it had a glass floor. He could see all the fish in the ocean from there. On the deck there was a big clear net drag to catch tuna in large amounts (clear is high quality because the fish can’t see it). On the side with the net there was a rail that retracted so Horrace could catch sharks with his bare hands. It also had a mounted pole on the back so the very big fish couldn’t rip it out of your hands. In exchange for this Horrace brought fresh fish for Kyle’s Carpentry everyday. Horrace also gave Tally’s Taxadermy lots of fish to stuff and sell to people that like having stuffed fishes in their house. Whenever Horrace caught a shark he would gut it then he took it to Tally’s Taxadermy, who stuffed it for him so he could remember the catch.

Every once-in-a-while Horrace took all his friends fishing, except Gail because she could hardly stand being in a boat. Everyone else loved it they wanted to trade jobs with him. After fishing for a while they would head in and cook up some of the fish that they caught. They caught all sorts of fish including, Yellow tail, Sea Bass, They even caught some eels and crabs.  The crabs where definitely a favorite. All of the crab had been eaten before some of the fish was cooked! They cooked the fish in every which way, fried some of the tuna and eel, some of it they left raw for Sushimi and Sushi, and then they grilled everything else.

Normal Ending

One day Horrace went out fishing in his row boat. He took it out every once in a while instead of his big fancy boat. It was a good workout and he enjoyed not having to listen to the motor on his other boat.

He rowed out to where the water was about eighty feet deep, were all the big fish were. He dropped a lobster trap and cast out a line. About fifteen minuets later he started pulling up the lobster trap. It was empty, and the bait was gone. He was disappointed. But it was nothing that hadn’t happened before. He put some more bait in the trap and was about to throw it back in. Just before he threw the lobster trap back, he saw his fishing pole wiggle. He grabbed it and gave it a good yank, to make sure the hook was in the fish. After that the fish was scared and began to swim away. It was stronger than any other fish Horrace had ever seen. He guessed that it weighed more than two to three hundred pounds! The fish pulled to boat around for hours. Horrace just kept loosening the tension on the fishing line so it wouldn’t break.

Hours had passed, the sky grew dark. Horrace was beginning to grow weak but for some reason he knew he had to catch that fish. He caught a last glimpse of the fish when it jumped out of the water, as he slid the pole into a hook on his boat to keep it in. The fish was massive. It was as big as a small whale and a shade of deep blue. It looked like a marlin but much bigger. When Horrace fell asleep on his boat, the fish was still pulling him just as fast as it was hours ago. When Horrace woke the next morning, the fish was still pulling him but it was getting tired. The fish had pulled Horrace all the way to another shore. Horrace did not know were he was but he needed food and water. He decided that he would catch the fish by spearing it then rowing to shore.  Horrace put some bait in the water next to his boat. He knew the fish was hungry so it wouldn’t be long before it came up to eat. Horrace grabbed his harpoon and waited. In a few minuets the fish came swimming up. Horrace saw it in the distance. He watched it grow closer and closer. It jumped out of the water into the air. Horrace threw his harpoon at the fish, and hit it right in the middle of its body. But the fish was so large it didn’t even notice. The fish swam back down into the dark water, harpoon and all. Horrace sat in the back of his boat thinking about what he would do next. Just then the fish leaped out of the water and hit his boat. The boat cracked right down the middle and sunk to the bottom of the ocean. Horrace quickly grabbed his life jacket and jumped off the boat. He started to swim away when he turned to look at his quickly sinking boat. He saw the fish with his spear stabbed all the way through it. The spear must have hit the boat and pushed deeper into the fish.

The fish floated at the top of the water, it was dead. A spear was stabbed through the middle of its body. Horrace floated in the water next to the fish. He looked around and noticed the shore was not to far away. If he was pulling the fish he could get to shore in about thirty minuets. He swam to shore slowly and he noticed large shapes under him in the water. He looked back at the fish and saw sharks eating it. He panicked and decided to let go of the fish and swim back to the shore. He swam as fast as he could until he reached the surf line. The waves in this area were very large and Horrace went underwater and lost consciousness. He washed up on the shore. After lying on the shore for a while he woke up and looked around. Next to him he saw what looked like the skeleton of a giant marlin! He walked up the shore a little bit when he found a town. He went into town and got a bag for the skeleton. He cleaned the skeleton off a bit because the sharks left a large amount of flesh on the bones.

Bag in hand he returned to the town were he told the locals how he got there and asked if one of them would take him back to his city and give him some food and water. A man came to him and told Horrace that he should follow him. He took Horrace to his house and fed him and gave him some food. Then the man led Horrace to a car and told him to get in. Horrace said that he needed to go back to his home across the ocean. The man laughed and told him that he was closer to home than he thought. Horrace got in the car and the man drove him away. Horrace had fallen asleep in the car. After about two hours in the car the man woke Horrace and told him he was home. Horrace got out of the car and immediately went home to tell everyone about his journey.

Alternate Ending

Horrace was living well he had friends, a house, and a job that he loved. All of this changed when an oil tanker was coming to his island. Every thing was fine until a rich man and his friends had a Yacht race and hit the tanker. Oil spilled every were and killed all the fish. Then boats could not come in to the area because they would just make it worse. Then the Island had no food and they all started to die and the rich guy had to pay for it so he became poor. Then he asked for a huge bailout for his company but ended up taking all the money for himself. His company, General Wal-Mart-Coke-Campbells-BP-Disney-McDonald’s-Motors and Electric, went broke and all of America lived of that company so everyone died and so did the rich guy and all the places that exported tons of stuff to America like China. Then China couldn’t produce for any other countries so it basically created a chain reaction that ended the world. Oh, and by the way it was 2012.
