Science: Cooking
In science class we are studying chemistry. We decided to do a bit of cooking to learn about chemistry in cooking. This week was more of an experimental time and we were still figuring it out. The day before the cooking day we went shopping. All four of the groups had a list and filled canvas bags with all the ingredients needed. On Thursday we were in the science lab cooking all day. One group made tamales, one made pizza, one made burritos, and my group made sliders. I wanted to do an interesting flavor so our group made pineapple sliders. We wanted to put teriyaki sauce on but most people requested not. Our burgers were fairly easy to make, we just fried them in a plug in griddle. We didn’t have much to do until forty-five minuets till lunch. Our burgers turned out well. I enjoyed the pineapple but some people wanted bacon cheese burgers. All of the other groups did well too. We had a large selection of delicious foods to eat for lunch. I enjoyed making food for lunch and I hope that we can do something similar in the future.
