In Science class we are learning about chromatography. We used chromatography to solve a fake crime, the robbery of the Buttery Money Bank. In class we were presented with a scenario. We were detectives at a bank robbery scene. The police in the bank told us that the robbers slipped the bank tellers a note that said to put all of the money in the bag. The teller set of the silent alarm and everybody in the bank stayed inside until the police arrived. They found a ski mask a gun and the bag on the floor. They also found the note that the teller received. When all the suspects were taken to the police station every person was holding a note of some kind. As the chromatography experts, we took samples from every note taped them to a popsicle stick. Then, we had to dip the edge of the note into some rubbing alcohol. This caused the color of the marker to bleed to the rest of the paper. When the colors bled they changed colors. Then we tested the note and matched the colors on the note and found the criminal.
